Thoughts become things, and we use the analogy of BOB playing Whack-a-Mole with our thoughts. A thought pops up, and BOB whacks it with “YES.” That’s how the Universe works. BOB is the Force. It is an infinite intelligent power—a being, but not a person. It is the Being of Bliss. Mind, Power, and Substance are Its main elements, and It expresses through each of us for entertainment. There’s more to it, of course, get the whole story at www.spiritwithasmile.com.
The Small Stuff
BOB has a problem. Its nature is creative, Its power is creative, and yet many folks try to create more than they can accept, so they think BOB deserted them. That’s not the case. BOB so loves the world It sent me here to set y’all straight.
One of the first things we learn as we study mental cause is “Think big.” However, if we affirm millions and have a “next month’s rent” consciousness, we get the rent. We may speak the words for millions, but we don’t really believe it (yet). You can’t fool BOB.
How then can we stretch our consciousness? Think small. Little things are easier to accept and easier to bring about. That’s why we get parking spaces more easily than that great relationship.
One thing that gets in the way of thinking small is we don’t want to “bother” BOB with our puny requests. This is because we originally conceived of BOB in our image. That’s mental residue that still thinks BOB is a guy (or gal) somewhere doling out favors. ‘Tain’t so. BOB’s thing is to make stuff, It doesn’t care what.
It’s like saying, “I won’t turn on this little lamp because I don’t want to bother electricity.” How silly.
In the universe of infinity, there is no “big” or “small.”. To BOB, it’s as easy to send Prince Charming as it is to create a parking space. Both provide enjoyment for BOB through each of us, and it’s only a matter of our individual ability to accept that makes the difference.
Every little thing we create with thought gives us another chance to say, “This stuff really works.” What do you think BOB says then?
So whenever you drive somewhere, anticipate a safe, smooth drive (and a parking space). When you go to a restaurant, consciously accept good food and service. At a party, picture happy times and good friends.
Visualize cordiality and harmony at a business meeting. If you want to break into traffic, accept a safe opportunity. If you fly, accept on-time flights and thin, congenial seatmates.
With any of the little things, we instinctively know the world won’t end if we don’t get it. If we aren’t hooked on it, we don’t radiate lack, and there’s no emotional conflict in our thinking. BOB gets a clear message, so It just says “Yes” as usual.
Get the idea? The little things strengthen our faith for the larger ones, and BOB is happy to oblige.
BOB created space and time to give us some interesting side effects — We call them “Yesterday” and “Tomorrow.” Mix ‘em in with the righteousness and approval of RACE Trap consciousness, and we have new dimensions of experience for BOB.
Add yesterday and we have pride, nostalgia, guilt, and remorse. Add a bit of tomorrow and BOB gets to know hope, anticipation, worry, and dread. Then we get to live out our dramas however we want with justassoonases. Here are a few of them:
I’ll be happy justassoonas —
…I get a car
…I move out
…I have a girl friend (boy friend)
…I get my degree
…I get a good job
…I get a promotion
…I get married
…I have kids
…I make more money
…the kids are grown
…I can dump this loser
…I get married again
…I get to Heaven
…I reincarnate into a better life.
The big problem with the justassoonases is they’re always changing, so what happens? You graduate and still aren’t happy, so you get a car and you still aren’t happy, so you move out and still aren’t happy… and on and on.
Happiness is NOW…. In fact, EVERYTHING is NOW, and when a justassoonas becomes a NOW you discoverer you’re still a mess. Of course, BOB just smacks you with another YES! and it’s onward to the next justassoonas.
How many justassoonases will it take to be happy? Let BOB count the ways. Of course, the answer is “none.”
Happiness is in the place between yesterday and tomorrow called NOW. A wise man (Ken Keyes) once said,
“If you can’t be happy here and now, what makes you think you’ll be happy ten 10 minutes from now — or ten10 years from now?”
That sounds nice, but how do we go about it? Remember the real rule of the game: Thoughts become things. If your mind dwells in the past, you re-create your past. If your mind dwells in the future, you put out the energy for a justassoonas. Pop quiz: Where do you focus your mind if you want to create happiness NOW?
