When you savor life, it’s delicious!
SAVORING and joy
As I sit on our purple couch, nibble on my buttered cinnamon-raisin toast and sip my Pinon coffee from New Mexico, a whirl of joyful memories flood my mind. This go-around, we decided to play with our new “Savor-Vacation™” (http://allowingyoursuccess.com/allowing_adventures.php) concept which, in short, takes the idea of enjoying the journey to soaring new heights. We always infuse tons of fun and fabulousity into all we do, but emphasizing this process of SAVORING every delicious morsel and nuance of our time together via all available senses proved to be even more insightful and transformational that I could have ever imagined! The less we “worked” to achieve any particular thing and the more we just let ourselves BE—immersing ourselves in joy for joy’s sake in any given moment—the more our momentum became like a force of nature, pointing us in the perfect direction with the perfect weather at the perfect time to the perfect everything. It all came with a constant barrage of bonuses, upgrades and happy surprises EVERY SINGLE DAY! This brought me to a very clear and powerful conclusion:
We all often work FAR harder than we need to in order to experience success and well-being!
The journey IS the destination, so doesn’t it make sense that the most direct path to joy (AKA success of ANY kind) is through experiencing JOY? Here’s some more food for thought…
SAVORING and momentum
No matter who you are, contrast happens. It is simply part of the game of physical life. But when you allow yourself to SAVOR the sweet aspects of life on a regular basis, you create a momentum of awesomeness that can carry you through even the toughest times – for example:
In the midst of flying high from our New Mexico retreat, we came home needing to attend to the fact that our son had been involved in a head-on collision. Under normal circumstances, this would have turned us completely inside-out, but because we spent so much time in a mode of SAVORING, we were (and are) able to draw from that positive momentum to keep our spirits high and to truly be part of the solution for him. End result, our boy will recover fully, and thanks to our daughter, Carey, who set up a special GoFundMe campaign for Sean (http://www.gofundme.com/sean-lane-hartmann), we have already been able to get the ball rolling to help him through the financial aspects of his recovery while (surprisingly and amazingly!) keeping our joy intact.
SAVORING and healing
Healing can sometimes be a catch 22. When it comes to healing, even with the best of intentions, the vibe and attitude is often more about effort and fixing something than being whole. What’s a deliberate creator to do? First, lighten up! If ease and vitality is what you’re going for, start by chilling out. Next, get OFF the subject entirely for a while and give your attention to something else that you CAN feel good about, then SAVOR the heck out of that!
BEING healthy and whole is all about feeling good and allowing the flow of life, so every time you feel good for ANY reason, you are in that moment BEING well and attracting more of the same! Science has more than shown how a relaxed and happy state of mind is conducive to a healthy body, so whether you take the spiritual or physiological approach, cultivating relaxation and appreciation is indeed your ticket to wellness! Here’s a recent example:
One morning during our retreat, Sharito, our fab VIP guest, told John and I that she had experienced a huge breakthrough…
…An unpleasant sensation that had been a part of her daily life for close to 40 years had spontaneously vanished! She spent no time analyzing or partaking in any targeted intention or technique to alleviate said issue during our retreat, she simply allowed herself to BE and SAVOR all the fun and beauty that surrounded her. Without even trying, she got off the subject of the funkiness and created such positive momentum through her powerful, consistent focus that the old belief and expectation simply didn’t fit! Now THAT’s what I call healing, baby!

Friends—there is SO much good to be found right under your nose, before your very eyes, on the tip of your tongue, at your fingertips and within earshot! Joy and appreciation will carry you farther and faster than any amount of suffering, so lighten up, stop trying so hard, and start SAVORING this precious NOW!
When you SAVOR life it really is—and will continue to be—delicious!
